About Me

• What do you do •

Currently I'm a college student, trying my hardest to get a part or full time job in retail.

• What did/do you want to be when you grow up •

1. An Architectural Designer, mostly inspired by my love of visiting model homes.

2. Crime Scene Investigator. Yes, I was a huge fan of CSI: Las Vegas and I really fell in love with science in high school, but after checking out some particularly gruesome crime scene photos, I decided it's probably something I wouldn't be able to handle for long.

3. (Super)model. I gave it a long, hard try for four years, but some things are never meant to be. I had the pleasure of walking in runway shows for some pretty amazing designers, shot a handful of magazine editorials, and made friends with amazing photographers, stylists, makeup and hair artists, and my fellow models.

4. Pharmacist. I got this notion into my head per suggestion from my Dad. I started following a blog run by a pharmacist, but after sitting down and checking the whole deal out, I decided I didn't want to be in school for the next 10+ years.

5. Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer. This is what I've decided to pursue and am working my lil tooshy off to get through gen-ed so I can begin my radiology courses. For a long time I've felt the urge to be of help to people in some way, but the job of being a nurse didn't totally appeal to me. Then I stumbled upon this. It combines a little bit of the science of being a CSI that I like and it means I'll be doing good for others. Now if only I could just get there!

6. Fiction Writer/Author. I've already started on a story, and am taking it slowly to see if it goes anywhere. I've loved to read since I was a kid and that love grew intensely in junior high. Over the years the inspiration and wish to write came to me and I hope one day to publish something. We'll see how the wind blows.

Where and how I grew up •

Born and raised in sunny Southern California. Grew up in Riverside county in a two-story tract home with my Parents, maternal (and later my paternal) Grandmother and little sister. There wasn't much personality to the house nor the neighborhood, but my friends in the neighborhood made up for that. At seventeen I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a modeling career after signing with an agency and lived with a friend, who turned into my now Husband.

• Favorite Food •

I LOVE Italian food! I am such a spaghetti girl. Simple things like tuna salad sandwiches and a fresh green salad with basalmic vinaigrette make me very happy. I'm not much of a sweets person, and when I enjoy a candy or cake, I prefer something that sour or has a bit of a bite to it. I can't handle anything that's too sugary sweet.

• Favorite things to drink •

Non-Alcoholic

I'm a big tea fan, moreso hot than cold. My top two favorite hot teas are Licorice Spice by Stash and Celestial Seasoning's Sleepytime Tea. I love Gold Peak's Sweet Tea and once in a while I do indulge in a Dr Pepper or Coke. A new favorite is Izze's Sparkling Blackberry Juice. I have a hard time getting myself to drink water. It's just so tasteless and boring, but I know that I need it. For a while sparkling Pellegrino was my go-to water, but now I much love and prefer the sparkling water by La Croix.

Alcoholic

Sparkling wines, a good Riesling or Rosé, margaritas, mojito's and Bud Light Lime.

• Top 5 Favorite Books •

1. I just finished reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and I am head over heels in love with it!

2. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

3. The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson

4. The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux

5. Perfect by Judith McNaught

• Top 5 favorite musical artists •

1. The first CD I ever owned was Baby One More Time by Britney Spears, so she has been a constant in my life since then. My #1 Favorite album of hers is Blackout. The new Femme Fatale is pretty damn good too.

2. Josh Groban. His voice just reaches into my soul and gushes beauty into it. I mostly love his Italian and French songs above others and absolutely love the album Closer and much of the first half of Awake. The more sad and melancholy sounding, the better!

3. Lady Gaga. She's just outrageous and the dance beats are so infectious. Can't help but love. Adore Fame Monster.

4. Christina Aguilera. Girl can sing. I mean... she always fricken brings it. I love ballads from her. Favorite album(s) Stripped and the second CD of Back to Basics.

5. Melody Gardot. Her voice is so mesmerizing and there's a saucy coolness to it. She purrs the lyrics. Her latest album is my favorite.

I love Jessica Simpson and Target shoes, and Coach and Kate Spade bags.

I'm a candle fanatic and own way too many, I most prefer foody scents like Pumpkin spice and Mint Chocolate.

I'd like to do more yoga, get better at my housekeeping and take voice lessons again to see if I'm still a (good) Soprano.

Another day, another step forward

I've finally started in on the story I plan to write and I'm taking it slowly. I don't want to push myself into writing when the inspiration isn't there, but as soon as another line enters my head I'm back into my little journal book writing away. I have big dreams for this book, but we shall see how it goes.

Today has been a quiet day. Took G to his physical therapy appt, went to the post office and stopped by a cute little bakery in Claremont to pick up a scrumptious dark chocolate and peppermint buttercream cupcake for G and I to share and made a long awaited for stop into Trader Joes and picked up some groceries. We had a wonderful cajun salmon for dinner and I had a glass of Trader Joes riesling. It's very good, and I definitely recommend picking up a bottle and trying it.

Tomorrow night is English class and I found out that I got a B on my first PoliSci exam, so I'm very happy with the way school is going and hope to continue doing well. I hated high school and didn't try at all, and I'm proud of myself that I went back and got my Diploma and am now back in school and working hard to get through my general-ed so I can apply to the Rad-Tech program.

Once I get through all that and have a job, we can move down into the main house and I am so excited about that. Fixing it up, starting a family. So much exciting stuff in my future, but I must remember to be present and satisfied with the here and now. Every day is a gift and I must treat it as such.
